Mr. Sharad Bhosale, the Steward of ILU, tirelessly working for the welfare of marginalized communities.
After a distinguished 37-year career at All India Radio as Station Director, Mr. Sharad Bhosale chose not to rest after retirement. Instead, he continues to work tirelessly, managing the International Leprosy Union (ILU) with the same dedication and discipline that defined his professional life.
For over 15 years, he has selflessly devoted himself to the welfare of marginalized communities affected by leprosy, without seeking personal benefit. Under his leadership, ILU has:
Established Child Development Centers to support children from leprosy-affected families with education and a nurturing environment, in partnership with the Bank of Maharashtra and Vikhe Patil Foundation.
Conducted 50+ awareness workshops across India to fight stigma, spread knowledge, and highlight human rights issues.
Even beyond his retirement age, Mr. Bhosale’s unwavering commitment and hard work continue to inspire change and restore dignity to those often overlooked by society.
Snehal Pendse plays a vital role at the International Leprosy Union (ILU), managing accounts and overseeing day-to-day administrative activities with great diligence. Alongside Mr. Sharad Bhosale, she actively participates in workshops and awareness programs, ensuring ILU’s mission progresses without pause. Her unwavering commitment and meticulous work help drive the organization forward, making a meaningful impact in the lives of those affected by leprosy.
